our staff We employ approximately 25 Program Leaders and Program Specialists to lead our camp activities. These staff are chosen because they enjoy working with kids, have positive previous experiences, are creative and fun. Camp staff must hold current certificates in First Aid, CPR, and a complete security clearance. Some staff will have extra certifications based on the programs that they are leading. As part of their standard orientation staff receive excellent training in appropriate conduct with children, behaviour management techniques, emergency procedures and resource building that will assist in creating the most fun and safe experience for your child.
child safety The City of St. Albert takes pride in its safe and fun programs. The key to a safe camp is effective supervision. We maintain the following staff to camper ratio: 3 to 5 years of age – 1:8; 6 to 9 years of age 1:10; and 9 to 12 years of age - 1:12.
program locations All registered programs take place at one of the following locations: Servus Credit Union Place 400 Campbell Road Grandin Clubhouse 5 Grenfell Avenue Akinsdale Clubhouse 36 Alpine Boulevard Lacombe Lake Park 135 McKenney Avenue

what to bring - indoor shoes
- a water bottle

- bug spray
- a hat
- healthy, complete lunch (full day programs)
- morning and afternoon snacks (all programs)
Please dress your child in appropriate clothing daily, as they may be outside or participating in messy, hands-on activities throughout the day. Please do not send money or valuables (including game boys, iPods, trading cards, cell phones) as we cannot guarantee the safety of these items. Your child will be too busy at camp to use these items.
field trips and program schedules Field trips are part of full day campers’ program schedules each week. Due to the shorter program day and the safety ratios required, preschool programs and half days camps do not participate in field trips. All of our field trips, aside from our park visits, will travel either via yellow bus or St. Albert Transit bus. On the first day of camp, a program list will be available that will outline a schedule of the week’s activities and any additional equipment required. Programs will provide opportunities to participate in physical activities, crafts, cooking and other interesting and theme-related experiences. Typically ,there is no additional equipment required on the first day of camp other than what is noted above. If your child is required to bring special clothing or equipment on the first day (i.e. swimsuit) you will be contacted prior to the start of camp.
medication and medical conditions Should your child require medications to be administered during camp please inform our staff at time of registration and confirm with the camp leader on the first day of camp. Please note we are an ‘allergy aware’ facility but cannot control allergenic items due to the public nature of our facilities.
