primary series yoga workshops Take this time to break down elements of the primary series which consists of a series of poses that begins with sun salutations and moves on to standing postures, seated postures, and final relaxation. Each of the power yoga primer workshops looks at these postures in greater detail. Leave with the tools to use these basic building blocks developing a sequence that will heal and strengthen the body, remove toxins, and prepare the body for more advanced poses. Suitable for those new to Ashtanga, but even experienced practitioners can benefit.
power yoga primer #1: sun salutations and standing series Cultivate power in your legs and core, beginning with standing poses. learn to meditate You’re back into routine, but have you remembered to breathe? Do you desire a daily meditation practice? This workshop will help you begin the road to meditation, what it really means to you and to find a way to create stillness within. Our instructor will give you tools to start becoming calm and focused. An individual whom meditates is able to remove and reduce negative and distracting thoughts. Relaxation, increased awareness, mental focus and a sense of well being are common experiences of those whom meditate regularly.

NEW ~ yoga and writing workshop Yoga and journal writing offer participants the opportunity to explore their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. In this workshop, you’ll be invited to experience yoga movements and guided journal writing. Use these two practices to bring awareness to your internal clutter and learn how to nurture yourself. Take notice of your story and dive deeper into your authentic Self. No writing or yoga experience is required to attend this workshop. hip opener (yoga workshop) This workshop focuses on opening the hips significantly. Many of us sit or stand for the greater part of the day and this results in tense and tight hips. We tend to hold a lot of mental and emotional stress in our hips which adds to this stiffness. This workshop will work on warming the muscles and joints with its practice as well as holding the poses to allow a true stretch to release that tightness. foam roller workshop The foam roller can be used as a supplement to treatment or to prevent injuries by releasing adhesions in muscles and increasing blood flow. By performing self-myofascial release techniques on a simple piece of foam, you can improve flexibility, function, performance and reduce injuries. disco fever cycle We’re letting the disco ball hang low and turning up the disco tunes for a great spin workout. So hey “Bad Mamma Jamma” from “Funky Town” – Let’s “Get Down Tonight!” During this class you’ll be shouting to our disco ball such things as “I will Survive” , I’m a “Super Freak” and “That’s the Way I Like It”! Get the bell bottoms on ‘cause there “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now.”

You’ll be shouting “You Spin me Round”! “Don’t Stop Believing” for the return of the 80’s. The 80’s are back for one night only!

candy or coal What’s Santa going to put in your stocking this Holiday Season – candy or coal? Why not be extra good this Holiday Season and try to impress the big guy. This year, our fitness and wellness team are hosting a competition for our members in which one gentleman and one lady will beat all odds and have a healthy and fit Christmas. Participants will be expected to maintain their weight and exercise daily. Don’t say humbug: Put down that eggnog and pick up your heart rate!
