Indoor cycling, also called spinning, is a great way to get in shape and improve your fitness. Unlike a regular exercise bike workout, spinning involves a variety of movements and speeds, with spinners sometimes standing on the pedals and other times sitting like normal, sometimes pedaling at top speed and other times recovering at a slower pace. One nice thing about spinning classes is that anyone can do them -- if you get tired, you simply lessen the resistance on your bike and reduce your pedaling speed. And they can burn a lot of calories – up to 450-500 for a 45 minute workout.

drop in spin classes
This fitness cycle workout will include all the components of spinning: intervals, speed work, hill climbs, and more. It is an excellent way to burn off some calories and add some cross-training to your workout. Spin cards (to reserve your bike) will be given out at the fitness and wellness desk 30 minutes before class start time. If it’s your first class please make sure you arrive early so the instructor can set you up on your bike.

5 S.T.A.R.R
Get S.T.A.R.R treatment! With Spin, Toning, Abs and Relaxation and Rejuvenation you get it all, just like you deserve. Start with 35 minutes of heart-pumping spin, followed by a 30 minute total body sculpt session. Add 10 minutes of abs and top it all off with a relaxing 15 minute stretch segment. Get a full body workout to start your weekend off right!

straddle and swing

the long hard ride
This 1 hour and 30 minute class is designed to challenge the rider’s endurance. A fantastic heart pumping workout! Taught on a stationary bike you will climb, sprint, and train to your potential. Ensure you get a great workout indoors this winter. All fitness levels are welcome to join this class, however prior spin experience is necessary.

train for a cure
Take a spin class. Help a cause. This is the training you’ll need for the MS Bike Tour and/or The Ride to Conquer Cancer. Focus of training will be on endurance, intervals and speed work. You’ll be practicing hill climbs to mimic the hills you’ll experience on the Bike Tour/Ride. Duration of this program will gradually progress over the 9 weeks so put your worries aside and saddle up! Our spin instructor will lead and motivate you through this training. Last class will be held outside in late spring, weather permitting!
